17 april 11.50pm

Door has four panels. Three tall skinny ones stretch up two thirds of its height while a single wide one covers the top. Probably came with the house. Lots of layers of paint on it. Handles are not original. Fake brass bit that joins to the door with white fake porcelain handle. Not a handle that swings to open or close the door, more a thing to push or pull.

On a shelf to the right are three frames, one has a pen drawing of a head wearing a hat, another a house and a telegraph pole in a snow globe rendered as a collage, the last a tall slender black dog on a beach painted in oil on board.

On the wall through the doorway three boats sit just above the centre line of another painting. The huts are at the bottom, the beach (wit the boats) then sea and the water break.

Old leather sofa and wood sofa. Probably english from the sixties. Tartan blanket folded at the end and cushions littered around. Two glasses, two coasters and scissors on the table.

11 april 2.50am

40 feet long I-beam supports the roof. Two sets of players half in red half in black and white. Warming up and stretching. A father with his daughter two rows in front of me. My dad and nephew to my right. Seats rapidly filling up. Slightly apprehensive atmosphere. The seats are plastic and ingrained with dirt. J128 is mine, J127 is my Dad, J126 is my nephew. The stand was converted twenty years ago to be all seat and they don't fit properly.

1 april 4.52pm

Nineteen double doors. Each has a semi circular window above it. Forty eight other windows. An arch that you walk under to enter the courtyard. Circle of grass on the middle with chain to stop the residents walking across it. On the centre is a circle of flowers. Four lamps to provide illumination at night. Rooks squawking.

1 april 3.16pm

Standing outside a barber shop the furthest shop I can see is another barber shop. This would be good if I wanted a haircut but I don't. This little town has no bypass judging by the number of lorries rumbling along. On the upside it means there are still shops on the high street.

30 march 10.48pm

Stagg stereo headphones. Sound ok but look pretty rubbish.

Each earphone is made from light grey plastic with a black metal grille on the outside. Positioned on the grille is a label with Stagg kind of autographed on it. The inner piece of each phone has a thin layer of foam then a thick ring of foam. The ring is covered in leatherette. The bit that joins the phones and goes over the head is also covered in leatherette. It has settings from twelve through to two which I believe are related to head size but it is not clear. This set comes with five metres of cable - I've lived in rooms that are smaller than five metres. The jack is a skinny one that I can plug into my iPod. I've got the bigger jack (the one that fits in my guitar amp) at home.

30 march 6.58pm

A room in an inn/hotel. Net curtain and patterned curtains which are tied back with a tie of the same material. A pelmet too has the same material. Two types of patterned wallpaper separated by a dado rail. Pink and white above and two tone green below. Sturdy old fireplace with the chimney boarded. Trouser press. Chrome kettle on small pine table. Digital tv with screen that keeps freezing. Mirror between the two windows. Three chairs. Pine wardrobe, pine four poster bed, two pine chest of drawers, one pine dresser. Green carpet. Dried flowers hanging on walls.

30 march 5.45pm

Sitting in the car in a little market town square.

Lloyds TSB bank, letting agent, hair and beauty, estate agent, heritage museum, cloth shop, post office, estate agents, pet shop, HSBC, community office, wine bar (yes really), Halifax building society branch, off licence, 2 more estate agents and The George Hotel.

Maximum stay 30 minutes including disabled. EXCESS PARKING CHARGE £60. Seems very EXCESSive to me.

Scaffolding covers one building.

A tiny concession to pedestrians are the islands of which I can see two. Seems quite dangerous crossing the road. Maybe the locals just drive and never get out. Between the bollards of each island are slabs with raised nipples to afford grip for the pedestrian. Its the same on the pavements that face the islands. They slope so prams and wheelchairs can use it and it too has the raised nipples. You may well get run over but you won't slip, not in our town.

Woman leaves hair and beauty. She's got a lot of hair. Not sure about the beauty.

29 march 12.23pm

Road stretches forward, to the left and downwards. The form is gentle to the eye yet steep for the legs to cover. There's lots of sky. In the distance I see the sea. Sea seems to be higher than the land.

Big circular blue sign, white arrow facing down 45 degrees down to the left - pass here on this side.

26 march 3.07pm

Rubbish - blue rubbish, red rubbish, white rubbish, brown rubbish. Off licence, cash and carry, video, textiles, and travel all in one shop. Framers, salon, chicken, money transfers, bookies, rising sun, internet, esso, hair and nail design, mini cab office.

Tesco express.

24 march 3.20pm

Big sun, gentle wind, shadows, black and white border collie cross. Not really black when you get close up, more of a blue, grey brown. The dog is sitting and panting. The other dog patiently waits for me to throw his rubber ring. Yellow with "FLOATS IN WATER" embossed on it.

Robin whistling.

Two yellow daffodils and two white daffodils. Not really white, more a kind of very pale yellow. Black and white dog gets up. More yellow daffodils, seven. Next to them a bunch of eight.

I'm sitting on a bench made from 24 skinny pieces of timber.

23 march 9.34am

Small park. Big lawn sloping down. Paths cut the lawn into smaller lawns. Walk ok the path, sit on the lawn. Big pond with concave and convex curves - in and out. Clock tower with the wrong time.

Fifteen cigarette butts, one empty rizla packet, one bottle top, two ring pulls from cans.

The slopes have steps and rails.

23 march 9.10am

Sharp wind.

Pebbles, pebbles and more pebbles.

Small car park overlooking the beach - very popular with driving instructors. Bright sun bounces off the rolling waves.

Workmen digging up a perfectly good piece of road - is this just out of habit?

Victoria Court. Very plain looking seventies block of flats, light brown bricks and beige paint. Plastic windows, cables running up to the roof for phone or tv.

Marine Court standing massive and blinding white like a huge liner. Seen better days but still going strong.

Bollards covered in tony stones

21 march 9.01am

Painting of a pier. Might be Lowestoft. Might be two feet by eighteen inches. Charcoal drawing of a dancer in a white frame. Larger frame with a predominantly black collage on it. A giant vacuum cleaner casts golden light on two lovers who are dancing.
2 inch x 3 inch Chrysler building in black and white. Grey surround. Flotilla of boats on white frame with gale gold detail.

19 march 11.38pm

Dog nuzzling his nose to his ball. The ball is a replica football but tiny. Now he sighs, curls up and sniffs his tail. His fur is soft, shiny, red and white and brown. He has a small triangle of white on his predominantly red head. His paws are white with small brown spots. His chest is mostly white. His collar is black with tiny flecks of sparkliness. Now his head rests on his crossed paws and he looks as though he is reflecting on serious matters but I reckon he's thinking about food. He's giving the floor a good sniffing while giving me that look. That look says so much, it's accusing, it's saying that he wants to play and I'm a fool for not wanting to. I'll take him out. His name is Bing.
